About

The Sonic Monolith is the publication serious emerging underground artists are not getting anywhere else. Real articles with a real angle, permanent artist pages at stable URLs, and a human editor reviewing every piece before publication.

The gap we work in is narrow and specific. Professional recordings, real stage presence, something worth saying, and no publication yet giving the work a proper piece of coverage. Not famous, not amateur. The space between deserving coverage and getting it is wider than it should be. We exist to close some of that gap.

We cover underground and independent work across genres. Electronic, rock, punk, experimental, metal, hip-hop, jazz, folk, anything with a real pulse and a real intent behind it. We do not cover major-label releases as a rule, hobby projects, press release rewrites, or anything that asked us to write about it in exchange for money. Coverage is not for sale.

Editorial Voices

Sonic Monolith publishes under four editorial voices. These are pen names, not individual writers. Each one represents a coverage mode and gives the publication a consistent tone across the kind of work it does.
